3am-3pm

Well my first 3am shift went surprisingly well. The melatonin eventually kicked in and I fell asleep by 10pm or so. Unfortunately for me this still meant only 4 hours of maximum sleep. Let me say that it felt like I was in the twilight zone waking up in the middle of the night for work. The drive to work was also surreal; no traffic on the road and parking was extremely easy.

While things were going well for me, it was a different story on the home front. Brendon checked in around 2pm with reports that miss Piper had thrown up twice. Meeeerrrrrrrrr. I came home to this little pathetic scene:

This was after round two. Her blanket had to be washed and she was clutching her temporary blankie in one hand (a clean shirt hastily grabbed from the fresh laundry to quickly try and comfort her) and some ice water in the other. Her paci was out and she was fast asleep. After she woke up I gave her a dose of Tylenol and a nice long soak in the tub and she was seemingly ready to go. Around 8pm I made a late dinner per Kennedy's request. "Kraft macaroni and cheese". Seriously can't tell if she just watches too much television or if she just has an extremely great memory. Welp, Piper's belly was not ready to keep that down and I'll spare you the diaper details. I have a feeling she got ahold of a piece of stray food from the ground or did a bit of garbage picking and ended up with a stitch of food poisoning. Is my toddler the only one that goes dumpster diving?

I put her to bed as soon as to was feasible and crossed my fingers hoping I'd seen the last of that. Then, Kennedy and dad had "girls time". Brendon had promised Ken that he would paint her nails and somewhere along the course of setting things up this happened:

What a champ! So fetch, I might add. Kennedy told him he had to "let it come off on it's own, NO PICKING" and he agreed. We'll see how that goes, haha.

On my last stretch of energy I have no shame in my attempt at cleaning up.

Tomorrow is a new day and I don't have any obligations.. well, besides putting the play table away the right way.

ZzzzZzZZzz.
