Let me say that the day started out swell. Both girls stayed with granny Saturday night so Brendon and I had Sunday morning and early afternoon all to ourselves. He was able to get some old wiring out from his truck and replace his radiator (again) and I was able to get some good solid reading in with Night Film. While training and my new job have been going well I have had zero time for literature. Womp, womp.
Around 2pm I headed out to my mom's house to fetch the little ladies. By this time they had already played at the park for a few hours and had frolicked in the yard for the remainder of the morning and were a stitch on the grumpy side. A twenty minute car ride solved that problem! Once we got home and had everyone settled back in after an early dinner, Kennedy asked if we could get out her Easy-Bake Oven. I had to wipe away the dust since it hasn't been touched since the week after Christmas.. so happy that Kennedy insisted that Santa bring her it.
After dinner she asked if she could have ice cream so instead of your typical cookie or cake recipe we made soft pretzels! Sort of wacky how they had this particular 'recipe' setup because they gave you three packets of pretzel mix (each made 6 extremely miniature pretzels) but they only gave one packet of the special coating, salt, and cheese dipping sauce. Yeah, the last bit is a little cringe worthy.
Overall they turned out okay! And then Brendon surprised Kennedy afterwards by taking her to his brother's girlfriends horse (more on that tomorrow) and I got to spend some quality time with Miss Piper.
Needless to say it went well and we were both ready for an 8:30pm bed time.
Where's the bedtime bath at?!
