Kennedy seriously has a thing for shoes. She doesn't discriminate: tennis shoes, ballet flats, sandals, flip flops, athletic soccer cleats, etc.; she loves them all! Well, it's getting to the point that she is asking on a daily basis if we can go shoe shopping! Obviously this is not something we oblige on a daily basis, let alone a weekly and/or monthly basis.
So, we finally decided that if there was something she wanted, i.e. "Sketchers from memory foam with tiny trampolines on the bottom", she would have to earn them by doing chores for one week. Guys, the Sketchers nowadays are so hideous and tacky! Were they always this way and I never noticed since I was a kid and likewise enjoyed wearing them?
These are the first pair Brendon so reluctantly bought for her:
And these are the ones she earned through her chores:
I guess these new ones are less of a headache..
While there are normal expectations we already have of her such as keeping her room clean and picking up after herself we added uncommon tasks for her to complete.
New chores were:
- Folding her own laundry
- Picking up dog poop
- Cleaning everyone's mess in the playroom
- Mowing the lawn
- Taking out the trash
- Organizing my closet by color
- Vacuuming
- Scrubbing the base boards
- Cleaning the toilets
- Feeding the cats
- Feeding the dog
Okay, so some of those are chores off my wish list.
Cinderelly, Cinderelly.
