The Sharknado movie franchise is one of my favorites. The best part is how serious the actors are but how corny and laughable the movies are. The fourth installment really took things to a brand new level.
Before watching the poster made me ponder a few things:
- Where did April's chainsaw hand go?
- This is totally a copyright infringement, right?
- Why is Fin shown twice?
- Who are all these new peeps?
How to celebrate? Have a viewing party with your best friend and be sure to bring/make shark themed snacks!
'Shark Teeth' Bugles
½ cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
½ bag original Bugles
1-2 cups powdered sugar
1. Pour half bag of bugles into freezer bag.
2. Melt chocolate and peanut butter in microwave at 15 second intervals.
3. Pour over bugles and shake/knead/other technique until bugles are well covered.
4. Add in powdered sugar and repeat shaking technique. Make sure your bag is tightly zipped closed.
5. Enjoy!
Shark Fin Pita + Hummus
mini (or regular) pita bread
hummus
olive oil
*salt
*garlic powder
*italian seasoning
1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
2. Grease a baking pan or line with foil.
3. Lightly spread olive oil and sprinkle with desired seasoning.
4. Cook pita bread at 4 minute intervals until desired crispiness has been met.
5. Enjoy!
Ocean Jell-O Cups
1 packet jello (or more)
whipped cream
Swedish fish (or other fish candy)
1. Prepare Jell-O according to package. I used the quick set instructions for the first time due to being a slacker and it worked well!
2. Pour Jell-O into small cups and let set.
3. Add whipped cream on top (be sure to do this just as your guest are arriving or it will fall flat as did mine).
4. Add gummy garnish.
5. Enjoy!
Bloody Beach Cake
1 box red velvet cake
graham crackers
frosting (colored blue)
fish sprinkles
1. Prepare cake according to box.
2. Channel Martha Stewart and decorate.
3. Enjoy!
Adam brought the cake and he completely outdid me. My Jell-O ended up being a major fail. The whipped cream was on top for around 4 hours before we ate it and it had fallen flat, made the Jell-O runny and made the fish extra chewy. Make note that I have forewarned you about this so if you ever throw a beach/shark themed party you are prepared!
The ingredients for everything (aside from the cake) were only $13. For three party snack items I think that is really affordable.
So, now sit back and relax with your snacks and get ready for some side splitting laughter.
May the chainsaw be with you.
