Kennedy would listen to these songs on constant repeat if we let her. There's some questionable ones based on lyrical content and one that I am completely displeased with. I guess these things are bound to happen when you decide to be the parent that refuses to play Sesame Street Radio on Pandora and let your iPod do the shuffling for you.
1. Jenny Lewis - Completely Not Me
This song has such a catchy and soothing rhythm that you can't help but fall in love with it. The lyrics unfortunately are about going insane and dying. Luckily when she's humming or singing this song around the house it's just "I was completely not me" over and over again and I don't have to worry that anyone is going to think she's clinically depressed.
*If you resonate with this song know that you aren't alone and that you can seek help without judgement!*
2. Matt & Kim - Get It
"At 1am, let's make some steaks." - Kennedy
"At 1am, let's make mistakes." - Matt & Kim
Really, no qualms with this one. They are probably my favorite couple in the music industry.
3. Joe Cuba - Bang Bang
This song was her favorite for many moons; to the point that I told her I didn't have it anymore. She requests it every now and again but it's not a constant fixture anymore. The English lyrics are probably dirty, but they are in Spanish and she only knows 'hola', 'cinco', and 'vamanos' sooooo.. no harm, no foul right?
4. Ke$ha - Stephen
Catchy, catchy, Ke$ha. I saw her in concert and she was shitfaced the whole time and not once did she fall and bust her face. Respect.
5. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face
Doing drugs together or just crazy in love? I'm just going to go with crazy in love so I can feel better about Kennedy singing the chorus on repeat.
"I can't feel my face when I'm with you.. but I wove it."
And I saved the worst for last.
6. O.T. Genasis - Coco
Oh boy. This is one of those times you're listening to the radio in the car and something sparks in Kennedy and she is hooked on this song. HOOKED. It's to the point where I'm afraid that her teachers at school are going to scold me because she's constantly saying how much she loves the Coco. That's when I'll try to convince them that we have a cat named Coco. Literally all of the pictures that populated for the search "O.T. Genasis" included guns or cocaine so I went with a clip from the 'cholo parody' version. I'm dying.. but still cringing.

Sometimes it makes me want to add a million songs from her favorite TV shows onto my iPod. Maybe I'll start collecting all the Kidz Bop CDs.
LORT! I just googled them out of curiosity, and they are STILL making those things. The current edition is Kidz Bop 30 and they are on NOW That's What I Call Music 56 (featuring Wiz Khalifa, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and The Weekend.. like they spelled his name wrong). That's insane. I honestly don't know how to take this information. Are people literally still buying those things to keep them in business? I'm weirded out by this information.
Sunny day, sweepin' the clouds away.
